Sterling revealed to Tiger Beat that he gets really nervous around girls when a girl is funnier than him: 'I get really nervous when a girl is funnier than me. I'm used to being the quick-witted one that has the snarky comments and can keep popping things off. When a girl comes right back at me, it's like, 'Wow.' At first I'm caught off guard and I become tongue-tied.
Once I get my feet back underneath me, it becomes this weird competition that is so much fun. It's attractive to have a girl battle with me, like war of the minds! I'm careful not to hurt feelings. There's a different between being quick-witted and being mean. I don't get personal or hurt feelings. I think girls like being challenged and not knowing what to expect fro me.'
