Justin Bieber Vs. Selena Gomez
Justin Bieber might have the support of Selena Gomez for his Best New Artist win at 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, but he will have to battle for fans vote against her at another MTV awards. Nominees of 2010 MTV European Music Awards have been made public on Monday, September 20, and it was unraveled that both Justin and Selena are nominated for Best Push Act.
The twosome are up against eight other nominees that include the likes of B.o.B, Ke$ha, Jason Derulo and Alexandra Burke for the nod. While 16-year-old Justin collected two more gongs from Best Male and Best New Act, this Push Act category is the only nomination 18-year-old Selena received. She is nominated along with her band The Scene.
In the meantime, the list of nominees was dominated by dance queen Lady GaGa and pop star Katy Perry. Both of them garnered 5 counts and will be competing against one another in four categories: Best Pop, Best Song, Best Female and Best Video. The last nomination GaGa nailed was for Best Live Act, while Katy was for Best World Stage Performance.
Following closely behind the two was Eminem with four counts. He vies for Best Song and Best Video for his collaboration with Rihanna in “Love the Way You Lie”. He is also up for Best Hip-Hop and Best Male categories. Other nominees included Miley Cyrus, Usher, Kings of Leon and 30 Seconds to Mars.
Winners of the 17th Annual MTV EMAs will be announced in a live show that takes place at Caja Magica in Madrid, Spain on November 7. Katy Perry and Linkin Park have been tapped to perform. Fans can start submitting votes for their favorites at MTV EMAs’ official site before the line is closed on November 4.
