Demi Lovato Diagnosed With Bipolar Disorder

Just after three months from leaving rehabilitation Disney star Demi Lovato has opened up so much to the public eye. Lovato recently sat down with People Magazine and revealed even more about her struggles.

Demi exclusively to People that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She told them:

I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar…Looking back it makes sense. There were times when I was so manic, I was writing seven songs in one night and I’d be up until 5:30 in the morning.

Now after three months of treatment Demi states:

I feel like I am in control now where my whole life I wasn’t in control.

We’re glad Demi is opening up for fans and readers. She is truly and inspiration for letting people know that she struggles just like everyone else.

For those of you who don’t know bipolar disorder is when people experience major – and often abrupt – mood shifts where they’ll go from having an elevated or excited mood, called “mania,” to having feelings of depression.
